Designed for education the SparkFun PicoBoard makes it easy to hook up sensors for sound, light and switches to learn programming with the Scratch language. The programs and device are interactive and engaging.
Like the Makey Makey, the PicoBoard is grounded in work from MIT Media Lab. It uses the Scratch Programming Language that has been designed especially for education and schools. It is engaging and fun to play / learn. Suitable for ages 8 and up.
Sensors like light sensors, sound sensors and switches are on the board and the included alligator clip cables can be used to hook up other things to measure resistance as inputs. Programs are then written in the visual Scratch software to take input from the board and make fun things happen.
